Back in 2007, Alex Aro [formerly of Shot Down Sun, Dearth, etc] approached Jason Sebek [formerly of Lucid Undercurrent, Erased From Existence] about starting a progressive death metal project. Jason agreed and began writing the music that would encompass "The Nameless City". Due to financial and personal reasons, Alex never fully completed recording vocals for the album and within time the project was ushered into the shadows of memory.
Now for the first time ever, experience Akallan "The Nameless City", an album that has been hidden away for a decade. Still in its unfinished state, with vocals only on tracks 1-6, the album is still a fresh and exciting metal experience. Jason's guitar work is nothing short of stunning, ranging from full on death metal tremolo picking to brain melting solos.
Perhaps someday the album will be completed to the specifications of Alex and Jason's vision, but until then, enjoy the album that might otherwise have never seen the light of day.
